Plain-language promise: we do not sell personal information, serve behavioural advertising, or use your prayer and devotional interests to build advertising profiles.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Holy Bible Meditation (“we”, “us”, or “the Service”) handles information through the Holy Bible Meditation mobile app, holybiblemeditation.com, and the account service at api.holybiblemeditation.com. The Service is operated from Australia and may be used in other countries.

2. Information we collect

Account and profile information

If you create an account, we process your email address, optional first name, preferred language, time zone, and account-verification information. You can read available devotional content without an account.

Saved activity and preferences

If you choose to save or sync them, we process devotional bookmarks, reading progress, meditation bookmarks, listening progress, text-size and display preferences, and related timestamps. Audio files downloaded for offline use remain on your device and are not uploaded as downloaded files.

Technical and support information

Our servers necessarily receive limited technical information such as IP address, request time, and security logs when your device connects. If you contact support, we process the message and contact details you provide. We do not currently use third-party advertising or behavioural analytics SDKs.

3. Why we use information

  • Provide, personalise, and synchronise the features you request.
  • Authenticate accounts, send verification or password-reset messages, and protect the Service.
  • Remember bookmarks, progress, language, accessibility, and player preferences.
  • Respond to support, privacy, and safety requests.
  • Diagnose failures, prevent abuse, comply with law, and maintain security.

Depending on where you live, the legal basis may be performance of our service agreement, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating a secure service, or compliance with law. You may withdraw consent where consent is the basis, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

4. Religious and other sensitive information

Your choice of devotional or meditation topic may reveal religious beliefs. Some topics may also suggest concerns involving mental wellbeing, illness, relationships, finances, or sexuality. We treat these selections and associated bookmarks or progress as sensitive. We use them only to provide features you request, not for targeted advertising, sale, data-broker activity, or unrelated profiling.

5. When information is shared

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose the minimum necessary information to service providers that help us operate hosting, email delivery, security, and customer support. We require each provider that receives personal information from us to protect it to the same or an equivalent standard as this policy and applicable law, use it only for authorised services, and apply appropriate confidentiality and security safeguards. Account data is hosted in a self-managed PocketBase service on infrastructure supplied by Hostinger. Generated meditation audio may be created with production tools, including ElevenLabs, but your listening activity and account data are not sent to the audio-generation provider merely because you play an audio file.

We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce rights, protect people from serious harm, or complete a business reorganisation subject to appropriate notice and safeguards.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep account and synced content while your account is active and for only as long as needed for the purposes above. Routine security logs and support records may remain for a limited period where reasonably necessary for security, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or law. When you delete your account in the app, the account and associated cloud bookmarks, progress, and preferences are scheduled for deletion. Backups may retain encrypted residual copies for a limited rotation period before expiry.

7. Your choices and rights

You can change local preferences in the app, remove individual bookmarks, use the Service without signing in, and initiate full account deletion from Settings → Account and sync → Delete account and private data. Depending on your location, you may also request access, correction, export, restriction, objection, or deletion by emailing accounts@holybiblemeditation.com. We may need to verify that you control the account. See Privacy Choices and Account Deletion.

8. Security and international processing

We use transport encryption, access controls, credential protections, and operational safeguards designed to protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security. Information may be processed outside your country; when required, we use lawful transfer mechanisms and reasonable safeguards.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13. Where local law requires a higher age for independent consent, a parent or guardian must authorise use. If you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice when a change is material or legally required.
